Ms. Jayati Bansal, Deputy Managing Director of International Banking Group of State Bank of India (SBI), represents SBI on the Board of Nepal SBI Bank Ltd. from 12th December, 2022 and elected as Chairperson on the same date. As the head of International Banking, Ms. Bansal is responsible for overseas strategy, business development, operational efficiency and operations of overseas banking subsidiaries/Joint ventures and foreign offices across the globe.

The International Banking Group of SBI comprises international network of 244 offices across 29 countries, with business portfolio of more than USD 87 bn and staff complement exceeding 3000. 

In her banking experience of 34 years, Ms. Bansal has held various positions across wide range of domains viz. operations, credit, treasury, Financial Institution Group, International Banking etc. and gained expertise in equal measure in all the areas. Ms. Bansal has had prior three foreign assignments in the Bank – at SBI Frankfurt, SBI New York and as the Regional Head of East Asia operations at Hongkong (Comprising Hong Kong, China, Japan, South Korea Operations and the Manila Representative Office).

Ms. Bansal is also associated as Director in the Boards of SBI Canada Bank, SBI California, SBI Mauritius Ltd. and State Bank of India (UK) Ltd.

Ms. Bansal holds Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), MA (English) and Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB).
