Mr. Ram Kumar Tiwari, General Manager of State Bank of India (SBI), represents SBI on the Board of Nepal SBI Bank Ltd from 16^th January 2025 and has assumed the office of Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of Nepal SBI Bank Ltd. from the same date. Mr. Tiwari is the Administrative Head of the Bank, deputed under the Technical Services Agreement between the Bank and its foreign joint venture partner, State Bank of India. Being the Chief Executive of the Bank, Mr. Tiwari is responsible for ensuring qualitative growth in business, improvement in efficiency parameters and enhancement of the value for the stakeholders of the Bank.

Mr. Tiwari started his career in 1998 as a probationary officer in SBI and has gained expertise in diverse fields of banking viz. branch operation, branch management, new business promotion, accounting, systems & investments, treasury, trade finance, international banking etc. During his illustrious career spanning more than 26 years in State Bank of India, he has held several important positions viz. Chief Manager (Treasury Management Group), Assistant General Manager (New Business, Corporate Centre), Deputy General Manager (NRI Branch, Mumbai), Deputy General Manager (Business & Operations, Administrative Office Thane, Mumbai), General Manager (Network-3, Bhopal Circle). In his banking career in SBI, Mr. Tiwari has also accomplished foreign assignments as Vice-president & Head (Trade Finance) at New York branch, USA and Asst. Vice President (Systems & Investments) at Osaka branch, Japan of SBI.

Mr. Tiwari is an MBA (Banking & Finance). He has also attained Certification in Commercial Credit (CICC) (Moody’s), Certification program for Risk Management, Certification course in Foreign Exchange (IIBF), Certification program in Digital Banking (IIBF). He is also a Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB- Part I & II).
