Nepal SBI Bank Limited (NSBL) has been actively engaged in various CSR activities in association with NGOs, INGOs and other social organizations that work for the welfare of society and community well-being. As these organizations work closely with needy individuals and communities on a regular basis, they are often able to reach more people in need. Through these partnerships, the Bank extends meaningful support to needy individuals and communities, creating a positive and lasting impact on society. By maintaining strong and collaborative relationships with these organizations, NSBL ensures that its CSR initiatives are inclusive, sustainable and responsive to real community needs. Such associations not only strengthen the Bank’s social commitment but also enhance its public trust and strengthen connection with diverse sectors of society.
In line with this, NSBL has been collaborating with several organizations to carry out impactful CSR activities that directly benefit communities.
Nepal Police
Banking and Financial Institutions (BFIs) in Nepal are facing cyber security threats and rising incidents of financial crimes in recent times. These emerging challenges pose significant risks not only to financial institutions but also to customers and the overall financial system, thereby necessitating enhanced awareness, preparedness and coordinated response among key stakeholders. To address this issues, Nepal Police has conducted a comprehensive two-day training program that aimed at strengthening institutional capacity and improve collaboration in addressing financial fraudulent activities and cyber threats. Nepal SBI collaborated with Nepal Police as Banking Partner under CSR-Financial Literacy Initiatives.
Pashupati Area Development Trust
Pashupatinath Temple, a World Heritage Site, holds immense cultural and religious significance. Recognizing the importance of preserving its cleanliness, the Bank has been actively supporting various CSR initiatives at the temple premises such as providing various cleaning equipment, cleaning services and other efforts aligned with environmental protection and sustainable development goals.
In line with this, with the objective of ensuring a clean, healthy and well-maintained Pashupatinath Temple area, the Bank has been providing regular cleaning services at the temple which is being managed by Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT).
Manavsewa Ashram
In various parts of Nepal, individuals facing poverty, disability, mental health challenges, or old age are often left without family support or resources. Many such individuals are found living on the streets, in public spaces and under unmanaged conditions, lacking access to basic needs such as food, shelter, hygiene and healthcare. NSBL has conducted CSR Activity by providing basic necessary items and financial support to Manavsewa Ashram, Dhangadi, Kailali. The initiative is aimed to benefit the homeless and physically or mentally challenged individuals from the streets.
SOLVE Nepal
NSBL has collaborated with Social Organization for Liberal Volunteers Engagement Nepal (SOLVE) in implementing a financial literacy program aimed at farmers at Rautahat of Madhesh Province and Kathmandu. This initiative focused on providing practical financial knowledge to communities where access to such information is limited.
Lumbini Development Trust
Demonstrating its commitment to environmental protection and sustainable development, NSBL has undertaken several CSR initiatives aimed at preserving natural and cultural heritage while promoting ecological balance. The Bank has extended support to the Lumbini Development Trust to assist ongoing conservation and cleanliness programs, including efforts to protect the environment, improve water supply and maintain pathways for pilgrims and visitors.
CAST Nepal
NSBL has joined hands with Collective Attempts for Social Transformation Nepal (CAST), a nationally recognized, women-led non-governmental organization, in the “Enhancing Awareness and Screening for Breast and Cervical Cancer” program. It was a three-month program initiative in various districts of Bagmati and Sudurpaschim Provinces.
Branding Syndicate Pvt. Ltd.
NSBL has supported a financial literacy initiative organized by Branding Syndicate Pvt. Ltd. in association with Nepal Rastra Bank, focusing on “Banking and Enterprise.” The TV talk show was broadcasted on Sagarmatha HD TV and Branding Syndicate YouTube channel. The program focused on promoting responsible banking habits such as budgeting, savings, credit management and understanding the implications of different financial products.
Nepal Bharat Maitri Sangh Kaski
NSBL has collaborated with Nepal Bharat Maitri Sangh Kaski (NBMSK) in expanding the Nepal Bharat Maitri Pustakalaya at Nadipur, Pokhara-3, Kaski. The library, serving around 150 visitors daily, offers free access to over 5,000 books, magazines and e-library facilities. With the increasing number of visitors, there was a need to expand the library’s space and resources. NSBL’s support has helped expand the library space and procure additional books and magazines to better serve the community. The Bank continues to support initiatives that promote education, knowledge sharing and community development, contributing to institutions like Nepal Bharat Maitri Pustakalaya that provide learning opportunities to people from diverse backgrounds.
Disable Care Nepal, Kathmandu and Inclusive Disable Organization, Saptari
Coinciding the occasion of 33rd International Day of Specially Abled people, NSBL has extended it support to non-profit organizations such as Disable Care Nepal, Kathmandu and Inclusive Disable Organization, Saptari, both of which works for the benefit of specially abled individuals. The Bank has provided white canes, walking crutches, blanket sets which significantly support in their day to day activities.
Badi Sarokar Manch Nepal
NSBL has supported Badi Sarokar Manch Nepal, a non-governmental organization that has been supporting orphan and underprivileged children from the Badi community. The Bank has provided blankets and mattresses for the children of Badi Sarokar Manch Nepal to help meet the children's needs during this winter season.
Round Table Nepal
NSBL participated in the Corporate Cricket Tournament organized by Round Table Nepal, a fund raising event dedicated to supporting meaningful community development. The tournament was held with the noble aim of raising funds for the construction of toilet blocks and a library at Ganesh Secondary School in Bharwacho, Bhaktapur. Through this initiative, NSBL joined hands with other corporate houses to promote better sanitation facilities and enhance educational resources for students. The event not only fostered teamwork and sportsmanship but also reinforced NSBL’s commitment to social responsibility and contributing to long-term positive change in local communities.
Ekal Vidhyalaya Foundation
NSBL has extended financial support to the Ekal Vidhyalaya Foundation, the principal organization of the Ekal Abhiyan project, a single-teacher school initiative. The contribution is aimed at supporting education for children in remote and tribal villages across Nepal. This collaboration reinforces NSBL’s commitment to promoting access to quality education in underserved communities and empowering children in rural and tribal regions through learning opportunities.
Birat Bahira Ma.Vi., Kochakhal, Biratnagar
NSBL has conducted a CSR Activity by providing financial support to Birat Bahira Ma.Vi., Kochakhal, Biratnagar for the installation of a dip boring system on the school premises. This project aims to ensure a continuous supply of clean drinking water for students, teachers and staff, enhancing their well-being and creating a healthier learning environment.
