Mr. Munish Kumar Chandna, Chief General Manager (IB-II), International Banking Group, State Bank of India (SBI), represents SBI, one of the promoters of Nepal SBI Bank Ltd., on the Board of Nepal SBI Bank Ltd. from 12th August 2026 and was elected as Chairman on the same date. Mr. Chandna joined SBI as a Probationary Officer in 2000 and assumed his present role in June 2026.
With over 26 years of diverse banking experience, he currently provides strategic leadership for SBI’s international operations across East and South Asia, Singapore, Australia and key overseas subsidiaries, including Nepal SBI Bank Ltd.
Throughout his career, Mr. Chandna has held diverse assignments across Corporate & Institutional Banking, Retail Banking, Trade Finance and International Banking, including heading important offices and an overseas stint as Vice President at SBI Chicago. His expertise encompasses strategic planning, business transformation, operational excellence, corporate relationship management, regulatory compliance and risk management.
