Financial Literacy Program conducted during Global Money Week 2022 - Nepal

Global Money Week (GMW) is an annual financial awareness campaign built to inspire children and young people to learn about money matters, livelihood and entrepreneurship, Initiated by CYFI in 2012, it is now organized by The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). GMW is an international campaign with many events, activities, projects, launches and competitions organized by over 170 participating countries globally. Throughout the 8 editions starting from 2012, the campaign has reached the lives of 32 million children and youth in 174 countries worldwide. This year Global Money Week was organized from 21st March to 27th March 2022.
In this regard, the bank in coordination with National Banking Institute (NBI) had conducted financial literacy program during the global money week in six different locations across Nepal. The detail of the program are as under:
In total 363 students (171 Male students and 192 Female students) had actively participated in the program held at different locations. The program covered essential subject matters such as saving & expenditure behavior, budgeting & its implementation, concept of BFI’s, & its saving accounts with benefits, risk acknowledgement and mitigation measures (Insurance), remittance, Loans provisions, types of loans etc.
One day program in each locations on Financial Literacy during the Global Money Week has been one of the most productive and interesting experience for the participants.
